Oatmeal with apples and honey

Delicious smoothie to speed up metabolism and lose weight

Delicious breakfast dish from chef Maggie Jimenez. Our recipe is reduced in fat and calories and is an excellent source of fiber. Enjoy it!


  • 3 ½ cup fat-free or skim milk
  • 1/3 cup dried apples
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup pistachios
  • 2 cups uncooked oats
  1. Bring the milk, apples, honey and cinnamon to a boil in a 3-quart saucepan. Add the oats and return to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until most of the liquid is absorbed.
  2. Remove the pan from the fire. Let the oats sit until they reach the desired consistency.
  3. Serve it in a deep plate and decorate it with the pistachios.
