Delicious breakfast dish from chef Maggie Jimenez. Our recipe is reduced in fat and calories and is an excellent source of fiber. Enjoy it!
Ingredients:
- 3 ½ cup fat-free or skim milk
- 1/3 cup dried apples
- ¼ cup honey
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup pistachios
- 2 cups uncooked oats
- Bring the milk, apples, honey and cinnamon to a boil in a 3-quart saucepan. Add the oats and return to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Remove the pan from the fire. Let the oats sit until they reach the desired consistency.
- Serve it in a deep plate and decorate it with the pistachios.
